Bills Tracker
This Tracker automatically monitors in real-time all proposed Bills from the EU and the Irish Parliament.
What This Tracker Contains
EU & Irish Draft Legislation: Live tracking of proposed regulations, directives, decisions, recommendations and opinions originating from the EU (various EU bodies) and bills originating from the Houses of the Oireachtas (Dáil & Seanad).
Real-Time Stage Monitoring: Clear tracking of the legislative process from First Reading to Committee Scrutiny through to enactment.
Sponsor & Tag Categorisation: Clear identification of bill sponsors, such as MEP Rapporteurs, TDs or Ministers and specific sub-sector tags (e.g. AI, Cybersecurity, etc.).
Direct Source Links: Provides direct links to the official parliamentary procedure files and draft bill texts.
NB: This tracker updates automatically based on recent activity. Hence, in cases such as the European Parliament and Dáil summer recess, this would mean there would be less activity to populate the tracker.
Disclaimer: While this tracker updates automatically via official open-data feeds and is also manually updated and reviewed, it is intended for general reference purposes only.
How to Utilise This Tracker
Strategic Planning: Use the ‘Date Introduced’ and ‘Stage’ columns to monitor draft legislation months before it potentially becomes binding statutory law.
Core Objectives: Review the ‘Bill Description’ and ‘Key Objectives’ columns for a concise breakdown of the primary statutory requirements and legislative scope.
Executive Oversight: Reference the ‘Potential Impact’ column to evaluate specific business operations implications and potential financial liabilities.
Interactive Reading: Access the URLs in the ‘Link’ column for official parliamentary files.
Government Legislation Programme
Another valuable tool for tracking upcoming legislation is the Government Legislation Programme, published every quarter by the Government of Ireland.
This programme outlines Cabinet priorities and highlights the key bills the Government intends to progress through the Houses of the Oireachtas during the parliamentary session.
